Single Review | Sideffects | Never the same

Sideffects Never the same album coverBeing a rock and roll band isn’t always easy. Especially if you come from Latakia, Syria. The band ‘Sideffects’, though faced with adversity, have proven that determination, desire and a dream can help to set aside a lot of troubles.

Despite having to leave their home country due to the current political situation, driven by their love for groups such as Avenged Sevenfold, Alter Bridge and Velvet Revolver, the group kept making music.

The members of Sideffects are now scattered throughout the globe, but they do not let geography get in the way: through the internet, they have kept working on their songs remotely, and even reconnected with musicians in their hometown, Latakia.

The band’s debut album, “Emperors for the day” has been in the works for a long time, and on first listen of lead single ‘Never the same’ it is clear that they have managed to overcome many struggles and the incredibly tough situation that they were faced with.

In spite of the physical distance between band members, the sound of the music is cohesive, impactful and very inspiring. Seeing what these people have managed to accomplished against all odds is truly amazing. The single has energy, vision and passion, standing as a proof that anything can be accomplished, with the right ideas and motivation.
